Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten Programs
We offer a creative curriculum approach with student discovery and teacher led activities with focus on connecting learning centers to multiple intelligences (i.e.,word, number, picture, body, music, nature, people and/or self smart).
This approach is Early Learning Preparatory Academy's response to, acknowledgment of and agreement with the NAEYC's guidelines for regarding developmentally appropriate practices. The guidelines maintain that teachers respond to child's needs, desires, and messages and adapt their responses according to the child's individual learning styles and individual abilities. Our Complete Daily Curriculum written by Pam Schiller, PhD, past President of Southern Early Childhood Association and Pat Phipps, PhD, who served as the Executive Director of the California Association and past Vice President of the National Association for the Education of Young Children; provides a solid foundation for instruction in our Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten programs.
Our Extended Class Programs are play-based extensions to curriculum activities for the daily objectives (e.g. extra time to learn through play and creative projects) by utilizing free play, painting projects, creative expression with puppet shows, songs, nursery rhymes and story time.
Our Preschool Program for 3-4 year old children (must be 3 by Aug. 1, 2012) is designed to enhance social skills, provide basic problem solving opportunities and chances to observe and explore. We will provide a rich environment of Art, Music and Free Play to promote self-efficiency, cognitive and physical skills.
Our Pre-Kindergarten Program for 4-5 year old children (must be 4 by Aug.1,2012) is designed to provide a Kindergarten readiness environment. Learning activities are created with consideration of state standards with emphasis in Language Arts/Literacy and Math Concepts. We will also introduce Science, Geography and Creative Writing.
Our daily curriculum will include story time (teacher read aloud), movement/dance, art, rhyme time, picture cards, counting, calendar activities and weather discussion. Our morning begins with a warm greeting and a cheer for your child. We gather in our Circle Time Center area where the children are given their Morning Message which introduces the theme for the day. We discuss the weather and spin the weather wheel to choose the correct weather for the day along with appropriate clothing for the day. We discuss the day's date, months of the year and days of the week. The letter, number, shape and color of the day are presented as well as relevant picture cards and a kid favorite ...Rhyme Time!
What a way to start the Day...
